Q.How long have you been working in the event industry?
A.I have always enjoyed being a part of an event planning team, but I have been working as an event professional for the past five years.
Q.How would you describe your design style?
A.I would call my personal design style timeless. I enjoy working with clients to bring beauty and grace to any event and venue. Given the opportunity, we can transform any location to fit your dreams.
Q.What’s your favorite type of venue to work with?
A.I have designed events in venues across the board, but I absolutely love working with all of the venues that are opening out in the country. These venues allow us to showcase the beautiful area in which we live and work in. There are so many in the Charlotte region, and each one is unique and beautiful!
Q.What was your favorite event?
A.I had the privilege of coordinating the catering for a wonderful group of VIP sports fans attending the Wells Fargo Golf Championship here in Charlotte. As the guests flew in from all over the United States, we coordinated the layout of private residences, embellished existing décor with gorgeous linens and fresh flowers, and executed the delivery of the food and beverages. For three days, we catered breakfast, lunch, and late afternoon snacks along with a full bar for the attendees. The guests were engaging, the homes were spectacular, and the food was over the top!
Q.What was your most challenging event?
A.Hands down, my most challenging event ever was a celebration for all of the employees at a nuclear power plant. If you can only imagine the logistics involved: the approval of our staff to work onsite, coordination of feeding all three plant shifts, maintaining temperature of all of the food, walking with and working around armed security guards, and don’t forget the concrete moat surrounding the facility that prohibited driving delivery vehicles anywhere close to the building being utilized for the event. It was an exciting day!
Q.What type of events do you have the most experience in?
A.My expertise would be in corporate events, they take the lead, and weddings coming in as a close second. In my opinion, I feel it is important to say that having experience in certain event segments is important, but I always enjoy working with clients to design an event in a new venue or location as it affords me the opportunity to be creative and think outside the box.
